Copernicus II
Allows users to communicate with a BBS that uses the Fidonet protocol
Macintosh Plus or larger; hard disk drive; Hayes or compatible modem.
Copernicus is point software that operates on the Macintosh. It is a set of
programs that allows users to communicate with a BBS that uses the Fidonet
protocol. It works over regular phone lines and provides for the exchange of
private mail, public messages and files. It is an efficient system for
transmittal because it often deals with materials that have been compressed, it
does the bulk of the transmissions during periods of the day when phone rates
are cheapest and it uses a very efficient communications protocol. After a
calling session, Copernicus processes all of the incoming materials, leaving
the system ready for the Copernicus user to post/reply/read/send messages on
its system. Copernicus can handle either Groupmail or Echomail.
